Almost 40% of Americans are more anxious than they were at this time last year, according to a new American Psychiatric Association (APA) poll.
The Self Love Bracelet represents your commitment to mental health. Every bracelet purchased donates $5 to Give An Hour,an organization that provides free professional mental health services to veterans and survivors (and their families) of mass shootings and natural disasters. They do this by harnessing the skill, expertise, and generosity of volunteer mental health professionals across the US. By increasing access to care and by removing cultural barriers, Give An Hour ensure that someday all in need will receive the support they deserve.
Together we can highlight the importance of understanding it’s okay to not be okay and that everyone needs and deserves help.
Cause Bracelets are not just cute colored bracelets. We believe in clearly displaying to the world what you stand for in order to create a space for positive, nonaggressive conversation helping other people ask themselves, “well what can I, my friends and family do to help solve this issue?” We've seen it time and time again, someone will ask, “where’d you get that bracelet? What is it for?” BOOM you have a creative opening to raise awareness.
This is why we have created a brand that clearly and proudly represents important causes all over the world!
Did you know, anxiety disorders are the most common mental illness in America? It affects over 40 million adults (18.1% of the population) every year. It's not uncommon for someone with an anxiety disorder to also suffer from depression or vice versa. Nearly one-half of those diagnosed with depression are also diagnosed with an anxiety disorder.
Although anxiety rates spike, few respondents said they have sought out mental health care — despite the fact that 86% strongly or somewhat agreed that mental health has an impact on physical health, and half agreed that stigma associated with mental illness has decreased over the last decade. Only 28% said they had seen a mental health professional of any kind.
Suicide rates in the United States have also increased substantially over the past two decades. It was the 10th-leading cause of death in the United States in 2016. It was the second-leading cause of death among people ages 10 to 34 and the fourth-leading cause among people ages 35 to 54.
Among individuals reporting a lifetime history of suicide attempt, over 70% had an anxiety disorder.
Together we CAN make a difference. We can do what matters. Every #SelfLove Bracelet helps us support Give An Hour’s mission to serve active military, veterans, their families and those affected by natural disasters and man-made trauma, such as mass shootings and the border humanitarian crisis. This is why we have released the #SelfLove Bracelet in support of Give An Hour to highlight the importance of understanding it’s okay to not be okay and that everyone needs and deserves help.
Every bracelet purchased donates $5 which helps secure professional mental health services for those in need by harnessing the skill, expertise, and generosity of volunteer mental health professionals across the country.
Our goal is that more supportive conversations will be had about mental health and you wearing this bracelet encourages such.
